The British Sociological Association are hosting a free online event especially for PGR’s with authoritative knowledge being given by a number of key academics. From the BSA website:

This workshop will explore why we write for publication, our motivations and barriers, and the desire to show impact from our work. We will also explore the journal process – including open access – and discuss terminology, timescales, and traditions in academic writing. Finally, we will draw on our audience for questions and queries about the publication process – so, come prepared with questions.

Join the Editors from Sociology, Rob Meadows and Paul Hodkinson, BSA Publications Manager, Alison Danforth and James Green and Karen Tatham from the BSA Postgraduate Forum in exploring how to move from PhD to being ‘published’.

This event is free to attend but registration is required.

Date / Time: 10 November 2023 (10am-12pm)

Dr Brian Waldock

Brian has a PhD in sociology. His thesis focused on a range of concepts including platonism, bureaucracy, and abstract space. When not destroying his mind with theories, he indulges in the occasional video game, anime, chinese takeaway, or maybe even a very rare pint.
